Single story house with courtyard, BREATH- Large 5m cantilever roof using old materials : #0802

The basin is used for collecting rain water- Hair dressing salon lies on the ground floor within the existing house extension in a quiet location.

The courtyard, waiting space, hall, Japanese room, porch and the extra space exist in the extended floor of the single story house.

The themes of the courtyard, large tree, large stone, old materials and basin are used so that people can make full use of their five senses. The imaging of the courtyard combines and matches the various elements.

The large 10m long beam made from old materials(Recycled from a closed down wooden elementary school)supports the porch with a large cantilever roof sticking out at about 5m. The 5cm deep basin saves the rain water that has dropped from the rooftop. Its location creates playful light and shadow that flicker into the space inside.

An old lauraceae tree is very present as the background of the courtyard and a big molten rock is added to the courtyard. The courtyard which brings together the whole space within the single story house creates a feeling that time goes slowly.

The large 10m long beam made from old materials supports the porch with a large cantilever roof sticking out at about 5m. 2m×7m pond is placed between poach and road. Its location creates playful light and shadow that flicker into the space inside.

The sliding doors are closed around the courtyard. The space becomes calm. The fireplace and the bench are on the hall...Two wooden glass slide doors on the courtyard's side are perfectly shut...Ready made aluminium sash is not capable of making this quality...

When the glass sliding doors are open...The border between outside and inside disappers...One large space appers..
